So You’ve Started Online But Nothing’s Really Taken Off. Here’s Why…

I know that feeling.

I began online in Feb 2008.

I didn’t make anything for almost 6 months. However as soon as I mastered one thing in particular — from August 2008 I began having regular $250/days.

And that one element that I worked hard to master…

…was CONVERSION.

When someone comes to your website – you will want them to do one of two things.

  • 1. Sign Up To Your List
  • 2. Purchase Your Product

One of the most common problems I hear all the time is from individuals all bent out of shape over traffic ‘…I need more traffic, I need more traffic…’

Well — there is a bigger deal going on that you need to address before this.

And that is CONVERSION.

You may well already be getting enough traffic to your site that could make you a good income…

…but if this traffic leaves with doing nothing, then traffic is not your problem.

Your problem is CONVERSION.

You need to spend some time before generating traffic — testing how your site converts.

Some Conversion Tips.

  • 1. K.I.S.S. Keep It Simple Stupid. Don’t over complicate your site. Make it obvious at your site what your visitor should do.
  • 2. Have ONE option at your site. Do not offer a product for sale by ‘clicking here’ and then a free newsletter by ‘clicking there’. ONE option. ALWAYS.
  • 3 Hold you visitor by the hand. Treat them like a 4th Grader. Don’t expect them to know what to do. If someone needs to fill in an opt in form to get a copy of your eBook, say ‘fill in this opt in form to get a copy of my eBook’.

K.I.S.S. Keep. It. Simple. Stupid.

What is your users experience like at your website?

Test your website! How? Get a second opinion.

You are probably far too close to your site to give it an unbiased appraisal. So ask someone else.

Or better still — post your site on the forum here and ask for feedback.
